Origin Of The Month: EAST TIMOR Maubisse

Cooperativa Café Timor (CCT) – the exporter of East Timorese coffee, was founded in the wake of the destruction of much of East Timor after it gained independence from Indonesia in 1999.

In Y2000, a group of farmers, in an attempt to successfully market their coffee, united to form CCT. Today, the organization has 19,600 members from sixteen (16) base cooperatives and 494 small-scale farmer groups.

CCT obtained Fairtrade certification from Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO) in 2001 and has since greatly benefited from the Fairtrade price.

With additional revenue generated from Fairtrade sales, the co-op has implemented many programs and services...

Blend Of The Month Competition - WIN Diamond Italia Domestic Espresso Machine

We had so many entries to our “Blend Of The Month” competition in the past weeks, that we decided to have two winners for this Month.

The first to mention is Ben Dalrymple, who opted for Organic and Fairtrade, very well balanced blend of Colombian, Ethiopian and a Rainforest Alliance certified Costa Rica Rio Negro. It was a real pleasure to taste.
And our second honourable mention goes to Martin Charlesworth, who blended Brazil Monte Alegre and Costa Rica La Lapa from a selection of our Voodoo Origins, and a Fairtrade and Organic Origin Sumatran Gayo. Hope you had a great coffee experience tasting it.
