Aims and Objectives of the Co-operative

The members carried out activities oriented toward increasing the productive capacities of small and medium-sized producers, with the goal of improving their quality of life by getting better prices for their coffee. This allowed them to become more independent of the large companies that marketed the majority of coffee in Nicaragua (Exportadora Atlantic and Cisa Exportadora).

San Juan Del Rio Coco occupies the extreme east of the territory within the department of Madriz. The region consists of 221 square kilometres and belongs to the tropical humid forest life zone with a dry period from December to April and one rainy season from May to November
